Majority of Indian business leaders stress on effective AI oversight for adoption
Most corporate heads in the country feel that establishing proper governance is crucial for successful implementation of artificial intelligence according to a new study. As per the findings, over 70% CEOs acknowledged the need for prudent oversight and control measures to be put in place alongside deployment of AI solutions.
The report published by a leading technology firm highlights the perspectives of thousands of business executives from India and globally. It explores the opportunities and challenges perceived with augmenting operations through advanced technologies like generative AI. However, only about 40% respondents stated having robust governance mechanisms presently.
The study also brought to light workforce, cultural and supervisory gaps that local organizations may face. A strong majority agreed on establishing governance protocols at the start rather than as an afterthought. Inspiring employees with a shared vision was believed to yield better results compared to rigid targets alone. Yet, not all staff seemed to comprehend strategic risks and their implications fully.
Hiring for new specialist roles and reskilling current team were acknowledged as important steps. Speedier adoption than comfort levels allowed also emerged as a concern. Reallocation of existing budgets instead of additional investments formed the funding approach for a large segment. Commenting on the surveys insights, an industry leader emphasized aligning intentions with ground implementation to maximize AI benefits responsibly.
