Legendary actress Vidya Balan has once again shown why she's a trailblazer by sharing her candid views on whether success in the film industry is determined by talent or family connections. In a recent interview, the National Award winner known for her versatile roles was quizzed about the ongoing nepotism debate in Bollywood.
Vidya did not mince her words as she stated “The film industry does not belong to anyone's father. If that were the case, then every star kid would be successful.” She highlighted that pedigree cannot guarantee success as skills and abilities are also required to sustain a career.
While acknowledging that belonging to an insider's club may offer some advantages like protection and early opportunities, the talented actress commented “In terms of opportunities however, I don't think anyone has been able deny me my fair share.” Vidya's illustrious body of work spanning nearly two decades proves that perseverance and talent can help establish one's own identity regardless of familial ties.
Up next, fans have a lot to look forward to from the versatile star. Vidya will be seen sprouting her comedy chops in the upcoming satirical rom-com ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar' exploring issues like compatibility and infidelity in a witty style. She also has the eagerly awaited ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' slated for Diwali 2024 where she reunites with director Anees Bazmee to deliver spooky entertainers in her signature style.
