As PUBG Mobile approaches its 7th anniversary, the game looks to revamp gameplay and take on rival Fortnite. With Fortnite seeing major success through frequent collaborations and seasonal content, PUBG Corp aims to refine core mechanics and keep players engaged more regularly.
A major part of PUBG’s 2024 roadmap is adding destructible environments, taking a page from Fortnite’s dynamic battlefields. While players won’t be able to demolish whole structures, some sections will now crumble, opening new strategic possibilities. A teaser showed a player using a pickaxe to dig sheltered positions – just a taste of how surroundings may adapt.
This destructible environments update launches in April with further evolutions planned bi-monthly. Rather than focusing on new modes, PUBG doubles down on sharpening the battle royale experience that made it a hit. From tactical building demolition to shelter construction, refreshed terrain bringsnovel twists to every match.
