Two Cluster Universities inaugurated

, APRIL 17: In a step forward, twin Cluster Universities of Jammu and Srinagar were Monday formally inaugurated along with 17 other projects completed under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) elsewhere in the country.

The projects were dedicated to the nation through digital launch by Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD), Prakash Javadekar.

The   Rashtriya Uchhtar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a centrally sponsored Scheme initiated by MHRD to improve quality standards in the country by creating new institutes through upgrading the existing colleges and conversion of colleges into Clusters. The   underlining aim of promoting research and introducing modern courses in higher . It is important to mention that J&K State is the first state to launch these two Cluster Universities in the country. Under this University five colleges including GGM Science College, Jammu as lead college and four other colleges Govt. P.G.College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Govt. MAM College, Jammu, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu and Govt. College of Education, Jammu come under its preview.

The Cluster University Srinagar comprising five colleges including Amar Singh College as lead College, SP College Srinagar, Govt. College for Women, MA Road, Institute of Advance studies in Education and GDC Bemina.
