Highway reopens for stranded LMVs

Kulgam, Jun 17: After remaining closed due to rockslide, the -Srinagar highway reopened on Friday evening for one-way traffic, officials said.

“Jammu-Srinagar NHW through for light motor vehicles as one-way traffic being allowed, Only stranded vehicles have been allowed to reach their destinations,” Asgar Malik, Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic), highway Banihal told the news agency.

He said the debris has been removed and the stranded Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) have been allowed to ply. However, he said that the work to clear the roads completely will be started shortly again.
