2 killed, 15 injured in accident in Doda

Doda,Feb 11: Two  persons were killed and 15 injured when a minivan (winger) collided with a private bus in Suigawari area near Karara on Doda-Kishtwar road. Reports said that a bus bearing registration no JK02B 8477 was enroute from Jammu to Kishtwar collided with a minivan no JK06 5933 at Karara near Prem Nagar area of Doda in which two passengers died namely Mohd Ramzan, driver of minivan, S/o Gh Qader Lone, R/o Guraka Seri and Shamma Begum, W/o Farood Ahmed, R/o Qazigund. The injured were shifted to Doda District Hospital and later four of them were shifted to Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu.

“Such was the impact of the collision, that the driver of the winger (mini-bus) Mohammad Ramzan died on spot and 16 other passengers, most of them from the mini-bus got injured,” Thathri SHO Vinay Parihar said.

A police party from the adjoining Karara post reached the spot within minutes and with the help of locals shifted all the injured to the district hospital where one of them died,” he said.

Shama Begum (42) succumbed to her injuries in the hospital, the SHO said. (AGENCIES)
