Srinagar, Oct 20 (KNO): A militancy plot was foiled and a person was arrested along with a grenade in Kishtwar district of Jammu region on Wednesday.
A Joint Naka was established by a team of Kishtwar Police, Army 26 RR and CRPF 52 Bn personnel at Drabshalla Thathri. “During the search for vehicles and passengers, the Naka party noticed a suspicious movement of one person who was trying to evade checking and frisking. However, alert Jawans of the Naka party immediately overpowered him and, on frisking/personal search, one hand grenade was recovered from his possession,” the statement said.
The arrested person has been identified as Sohail Ahmed Bhat son of Noor Mohd Bhat resident of Bathri Gandoh District Doda, police said.
“In this regard, FIR No.235/2021 comes into play. Under relevant sections of the law, a complaint has been registered at PS Kishtwar and further investigation has been taken up,” the statement said.
