Katra, 26 June: Police on Saturday registered a case of molesting and raping a minor against an alleged accused namely Suneel Kumar of Kandyar. On a written complaint of Rakesh Kumar that his daughter of 10 years age was molested and raped by one Suneel Kumar R/o Kandyar when she went to carry drinking water from a nearby water source.
According to the complaint, accused suddenly Suneel Kumar appeared on the spot and after finding the minor girl alone started molesting the girl and then raped her. On the complaint, a case FIR no 112/2021 U/S 376 IPC, 4 POSCO Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
Team of Police Post, Kakriyal reached the spot of the incident got the medical examination of the victim through the board of doctors on the same day. Meanwhile, a team of the police post Kakryal raided arrested the accused within few hours of commission and reporting of crime.
Statement of the victim has been recorded under section 164 CrPC, before the Judicial Magistrate Reasi and further investigation of the case is going on.
Sensing the gravity of the offence SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh has constituted a special team headed by a lady Sub Inspector Kusum Sulakhiya, Incharge of Woman Cell of Police Station Reasi, with the directions to investigate the case on merits at the earliest.
