Udhampur, Dec 8: Two police personnel were killed and one injured in a suspected fratricide incident early Sunday morning in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place around 6:30 am when two policemen from Sopore, traveling towards the Training Centre Talwara in Reasi district, suffered gunshot wounds while traveling in a department vehicle.
Initial investigations revealed that the incident involved both fratricide and suicide, with an AK-47 rifle believed to have been used in the attack. Senior police officers have reached the spot, and an investigation is currently underway.
The third officer, who was injured but not critically, has been safely rushed to the hospital for treatment. Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, Amod Nagpure, confirmed the details of the incident, stating that the situation is being thoroughly investigated.
