2 LeT associates arrested in Budgam

    Srinagar, Mar 31: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two militant associates affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district and recovered incriminating materials from their possession.

    Police spokesman said that acting on specific inputs, Budgam police along with 53RR and 43BN CRPF apprehended two militant associates of LeT in a joint operation at Laloo Sheshgari Hyderpora.

    They have been identified as Aquib Ahmad Wani of Laloo Sheshgari Hyderpora and Aadil Manzoor Mir of Nadirgund Humhama.

    During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that both the arrested militant associates were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active militants of LeT in Hyderpora and Humhama areas of district Budgam.

    They have also been found in touch with the PaK militant commanders through various social media platforms, the statement said, adding that incriminating materials of LeT have been recovered from their possession.

    Accordingly, police said that a case under FIR number 68/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and further investigation has been taken up.
