Workshop on MR Vaccination Campaign inaugurated

District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz today inaugurated a planning and orientation workshop for effective roll out of the Measles-Rubella Vaccination campaign starting from September 1, this year.
The DDC urged workers to work sincerely for the success of the campaign and good of the people in the district. He impressed upon the concerned to collect the basic data on area wise prevalence of the diseases in the district and plan the roll out of campaign accordingly.
In the keynote address, Dr. Suresh Gupta, CMO and Dr. Anis Rather, District Immunization Officer gave an introduction to the Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign, informing that is co-signatory to the goal of measles elimination and rubella/Congenital Rubella Control (CRS) by 2020. They highlighted the objectives of the workshop and basic strategic operational plans for the MR campaign and the roll out plan with timelines and other guidelines.
Dr Akshay Vyas and Dr Ravinder Paul Singh, Rajasthan and based Surveillance Medical Officers and associated with the Health Organization highlighted about MR campaign including country update, elimination strategies, epidemiology and rationale, planning, recording, reporting, monitoring and communication tools.
They also briefed about the basics of micro planning for MR vaccination campaign, school micro planning, MR vaccine and cold chain and logistics management, AEFI treatment/management during MR Campaign and FAQs on MR vaccination campaign including routine immunization.
The workshop was attended by MS DH Rajouri Dr Mehmood Bajjar, all BMOs, Medical Officers from DH, SDHs and PHCs, Community Health Officers from CHC, nurses, pharmacist, vaccinators and District and Block Program Management Unit staff, NHM.
