Himachal, Jun 1: A story of dedication and perseverance emerged from Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh during the recent elections. Situated in the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency, the little village of Chuwar witnessed a remarkable show of spirit and resolve when Vimla Sharma came out to vote despite facing health issues.
Struggling with ill-health, the determined voter chose to fulfill her civic duty rather than letting her condition come in the way. Armed with just an oxygen cylinder for support, Vimla braved all obstacles and made her way to the polling booth at Chuwar. Undeterred by her poor health, she was committed to exercising her democratic right and casting her ballot.
Vimla’s action serves as an inspiration for others on the significance of voting. Even when facing personal difficulties, she placed her constitutional role as a citizen above everything else. Her selfless act underscores the importance of participation in the electoral process. While many make excuses to avoid voting, Vimla sets an example of perseverance and dedication.
