The revelations made by the Chief Secretary in Jammu and Kashmir regarding the staggering number of backdoor appointments in Jammu and Kashmir are indeed shocking and raise serious concerns about nepotism and the misuse of power.
It is pertinent to mention that the Chief Secretary has made a statement that over 2.50 lakh backdoor recruitments were made in the past in Jammu and Kashmir and nothing such is prevalent now. The statement clearly raises accusing fingers on all earlier governments of Congress, National Conference, Peoples' Democratic Party and these trio in coalition and with BJP also.
If presently, the things have been rectified as per the CS, it is well and good but the sinners of the past should not be given a chance to go scot-free as the people sitting at helm must be having the entire detail or else sharing exact information in public domain was not possible. The politicians who treated the erstwhile state of Jammu Kashmir as their fiefdom and indulged into such unfair practices and plundering the state's resources and depriving the people of their rights should be exposed and punished too.
There is not an iota of doubt that LG Manoj Sinha is a seasoned personality and morally upright but it is his solemn duty to direct for stringent possible action against those who have won undue favours of the people in power in the past and gained employment which is unlawful and therefore the entire lot among the aforesaid 2.50 lakh government employees should be first shown the doors following the legal action taking them all to task.
Well, let's assume that backdoor entries have become a thing of the past under LG Sinha but the simple question remains the same- isn't it unfair to allow the blue-eyed to continue serving in the government sector when it is proved that their recruitment was a sham and a complete mockery.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir have placed their trust in the present government, and it is essential that this trust is upheld through concrete actions rather than mere rhetoric. The failure to hold accountable those involved in illegal recruitments casts a shadow over the integrity of the entire system.
It is high time that justice prevails, and those responsible for these illegal acts are brought to justice, regardless of their positions or influence. The pursuit of truth and justice must transcend political considerations and personal affiliations to ensure a fair and transparent administration for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
