SRINAGAR, Apr 22: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Wednesday forecast mostly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir till the end of April, with brief spells of rain and thundershowers expected on April 24–25 and April 29–30.
Director MeT Centre Srinagar, Mukhtar Ahmad, said no major weather activity is anticipated during the period except short rain spells on the specified dates.
He said April 22–23 will remain generally dry, though a few places may receive light rain towards late afternoon.
For April 24–25, partly to generally cloudy conditions are expected with brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places, along with gusty winds at some locations during late afternoon and evening.
April 26 is likely to stay mostly dry, with isolated light rain possible in the afternoon, while April 27–28 is expected to remain generally dry.
The MeT said April 29–30 and May 1–2 may see generally cloudy skies with brief light rain or thundershowers at a few places, mainly during late afternoon hours.
In its advisory, the department urged farmers to continue agricultural operations till April 23, noting that day temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius at many places during this period.
