Water scarcity: Supreme Court slams Delhi government, asks what measures it has taken against tanker mafia in city

    Date:

New Delhi, Jun 12: Following water scarcity in the city, the Supreme Court on Wednesday slammed the Delhi government, asking it what measures it had taken against tanker mafia in the city.

The court said, “People are suffering, we are seeing visuals on every news channel.”

It asked the Delhi government what measures it had taken to control water wastage if water scarcity is a recurring problem in summers.

“If you can’t deal with the tanker mafia, we will ask Delhi Police to take action,” the court told the Delhi government.

The apex court directed the Delhi government to file an affidavit stating the measures it had taken to control water wastage.
