Anantnag, Mar 8: Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, Principal and Dean of Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, was honoured with an appreciation award by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda for her exemplary services in promoting affordable healthcare and advancing the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
The award was presented during a ceremony in New Delhi on Jan Aushadhi Diwas, attended by dignitaries including Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anupriya Patel and Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals Manoj Joshi.
The recognition highlights the achievements of the Jan Aushadhi Kendra operating under GMC Anantnag — PMBJK09614 — which ranked among the top four Kendras nationally for the highest purchase figures, reflecting its significant role in making quality medicines affordable and accessible.
The official citation praised the institution’s consistent dedication to the government’s vision of expanding access to cost-effective medicines for all sections of society, and acknowledged Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb’s leadership in strengthening healthcare delivery in the region.
