Jammu Tawi: Shiv Sena (UBT) activists led by its J&K Chief Manish Sahni on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to Naib Subedar Rakesh Kumar, who laid down his life in an encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar district on Sunday. The tribute ceremony, held at the party’s state central office, saw emotional moments as party leaders honored the martyr for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Sahni, while paying tribute, condemned the recent surge in terrorist attacks and called for immediate action to halt such acts of violence. Expressing deep concern over the increasing frequency of attacks, Sahni warned the terrorists to stop their cowardly acts and urged the intelligence agencies and the central government to step up their efforts in ensuring security in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The martyrdom of our soldiers and the brutal attacks on innocent, unarmed civilians must end. From October till now, 20 innocent people—including 14 civilians, 3 security personnel, and 3 Village Defence Guards (VDGs)—have lost their lives,” Sahni said. Sahni raised concerns over the rising violence and demanded that the Modi government at the Center take stronger action against the perpetrators. He called for strong military action against Pakistan, the primary source of cross-border terrorism, and insisted on an increase in the deployment of the Army in Jammu and Kashmir.
