The Nation is remembering Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Vijay Ghat, the samadhi of Shastriji in the national capital and offered floral tributes.
Lal Bahadur Shastri National Memorial Trust will organise a programme of devotional and patriotic songs by noted signer Sapna Bhatnagar on the 115th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister.
Under Shastri's leadership, India won the 1965 war against Pakistan. He gave the nation the powerful slogan of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan to enthuse soldiers and farmers.
