790 Kanals in Doda, 678 Kanals in Reasi
Doda/Reasi, Nov 25: Revenue Department teams recovered 790 Kanal State and Roshni land across Doda district in the last two days.
Going tough on encroachers, a mega anti encroachment drive has been launched in the district on the directions of District Magistrate Doda Vikas Sharma.
As per Revenue department, its Officials retrieved about 790 Kanal State and Roshni land in two days which is the biggest drive ever launched in the district.
A team of Revenue Department, under the supervision of Tehsildar, retrieved 16 Kanal and 01 at village Kondhra under khasra number 252. The retrieved land was handed over to lambardar and Chowkidar with the instructions to prohibit people from any repeat encroachment attempt and inform the Department immediately of the same.
Similarly 150 kanal State land and 04 kanal 17 Marla Roshni land under Khasra no.1050 was retrieved at village Mundhar of Tehsil Kastigarh.
Likewise 131 kanal Roshni land and 279 kanal 10 marlas State land was retrieved from unlawful possession at Village Mothi, while 90 kanal and 06 marlas of State land including 46 kanal 12 marlas Roshni land under survey no. 28 min was retrieved at Village Gadi of Tehsil Bhagwah.
Moreover, 49 Kanal and 01 M government land including 13 Kanal 01 Marlas vested under Roshni Act under Khasra Nos 539 & 564 was vacated at Tehsil Bhella.
At Tehsil Chiralla, Revenue team vacated 91 Kanal 01 marla state land, including 15 kanal 9 marla Roshini land was vacated at village Jhajka.
In continuation to its drive against the encroachment over the state land and as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh, an anti-encroachment drive was carried out in village Kanthan and Dhansal of Arnas & Thuroo tehsils here today.
The anti encroachment drive was carried out by Tehsildar Arnas Azhar Majid and Thuroo along with other Revenue officials.
In this drive, 190 kanal state land under the illegal possession of encroachers was retrieved in Tehsil Arnas and 488 Kanals was retrieved in Tehsil Thuroo by the revenue department.
Pertinent to mention here that Deputy Commissioner Reasi has already issued strict instructions for carrying out anti encroachment drives and to retrieve state land illegally occupied in different Tehsils of District Reasi & to make this drive a regular affair of the department.
The encroachers were asked not to repeat this act otherwise strict action under relevant sections will be initiated against the violators.
Earlier, awareness against the encroachment of state land was also imparted through different mediums and by holding sensitization programs by District Administration & revenue officials in various Tehsils of the District.
