Katra: In a significant step to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) and the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as entrepreneurship incubation, skill-based training, education, research, and the promotion of an innovation-driven culture.
The MoU was signed by Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director of JKEDI, and Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar of SMVDU, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU. The partnership seeks to create opportunities for students and aspiring entrepreneurs through initiatives like curriculum development, industrial training, internships, and skill development programs. The signing ceremony, held at SMVDU, was attended by senior officials, including Deans and Heads of Departments of various schools and sections at SMVDU. Also present were Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer, Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of the SMVDU Technology Business Incubation Center (TBIC), and other dignitaries such as Dr. Vinod Kumar, Incharge of CNEC, and Abhilash Braroo, DNO of Reasi. This collaboration is set to play a crucial role in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and driving innovation across the region, creating a strong startup ecosystem and a platform for young innovators to thrive.
