Considering the way the terror mongers have carried out the Pahalgam attack, it has become necessary to go for fresh security-audit of all the strategic assets and places which the terrorists can target in future. By now, those who are manning the security in the Union Territory should have got the idea about the possible gaps in the security edifice as the ghastly attack on tourists has come as an eye opener for many because the terrorists have allegedly targeted a place which was full of tourists but with no traces of security forces, which clearly shows that there was a big lapse which security forces failed to address but the terrorists took it as an advantage to carry out the felony without the fear of being caught.
The need of the hour is to identify all such loopholes in the security Bandobast across the Union Territory and immediate action to address them all in a failsafe manner because the country cannot afford any more attacks and colossal loss of precious lives of her citizens.
One cannot deny the fact that the terror mongers have figured out the lacuna with regard to allowing tourists in flocks to a place which was not guarded well and executed the misdemeanor in a manner which they wanted to. This attack has taught a big lesson to the security forces to revamp the security infrastructure and the deployment at all the places in Jammu and Kashmir.
It is good that CEO SMVDSB has convened a joint security review meeting to mull on different steps to bolster security of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. It has become imperative that stakeholders of all the vital installations, strategic assets and public places should emulate steps taken by SMVDSB to revamp security looking at the threat perception after the Pahalgam attack.
It is a hard fact that still at many places the terrorists have managed to dodge the security forces and search operations are on to track them down.
Under such circumstances, it becomes necessary that security should be rejuvenated accordingly so that the terror mongers cannot repeat Pahalgam like carnage that has led to death of 26 tourists.
