Rajnath Hoists Flag at Ram Temple Complex on 2nd Anniversary of ‘Pran Pratishtha’

Ayodhya, Dec 31: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday hoisted a flag at the Annapurna Temple within the Ram Temple complex and offered prayers to mark the second anniversary of the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla.

Singh was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Annapurna Temple is among the seven temples located inside the Ram Temple complex.

Earlier, Singh and Adityanath offered prayers at the Hanumangarhi Temple before proceeding to the Ram Temple complex. Singh also paid obeisance before the idol of Ram Lalla and participated as the chief yajman in the Pran Pratishtha Dwadashi programme, officials said.

The observance comes after a programme held on November 25, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted a saffron flag atop the Ram Temple, marking the formal completion of its construction.

Officials said the Pran Pratishtha Dwadashi rituals will continue till Friday, while religious ceremonies at the temple began on Saturday. The idol of Ram Lalla was consecrated on January 22, 2024, in a ceremony led by Prime Minister Modi.

A Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust office-bearer said around five to six lakh devotees are expected to visit Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s darshan on the occasion of the second anniversary. (Agencies)
