Jammu Tawi: Noted Mumbai-based television actress, producer, and director, Rashmi Sharma Rai, while addressing a press conference here today, urged the government to establish a Duggar Satellite Channel in Jammu, aiming to promote the Dogri language and Duggar culture. Rashmi Sharma Rai, who is the daughter of the late Shri Ghanshyam Sharma, a veteran director at All India Radio Jammu, shared her deep ties to Jammu, having spent much of her childhood and education there. She expressed concern over the decline in production activities at AIR Jammu and Doordarshan Jammu, which she believes are crucial for fostering creativity, innovation, and professionalism among budding artists. Rai appealed to the government to reinstate production in these media outlets, which she sees as essential for nurturing the local artistic community. Advocate Harish Kaila, Yash Pal Yash, Narinder Singh Chib, Sunita Bhadwal, Rajinder Kumar Narang, Dr. Sushil Bhola, and Sadhna Kachroo were present in the press conference.
