Jammu Tawi, May 31: The poor plight of the Satwari-RS Pura road stands a testimony of Administration's negligence in the backdrop of its tall claims of developing the Bisnah-RS Pura Border areas as a tourist circuit in Jammu. On taking a test ride over the Satwari-RS Pura road, one find a worst experience and easily terms it as a perilous testament to negligence, with its dilapidated condition and glaring absence of dividers at critical points. The woeful state of the road dotted with broad and deep pits over the entire stretch of the road, not only endangers the lives of commuters but also casts a shadow over the region's burgeoning tourism aspirations.
The highway serves as a vital artery linking Suchetgarh border and Gharana Wetland, both hailed as burgeoning tourist hotspots in Jammu. However, the dismal state of the road undermines efforts to promote these destinations, deterring potential visitors and hampering local economic growth.
Furthermore, the highway's connection to the ring road exacerbates the problem, as traffic congestion and safety hazards compound along this vital transit route.
What adds to the frustration is the silence from prominent leaders belonging to this area. Despite their influence and authority, they have chosen to remain mute on this burning issue, neglecting the welfare and safety of their constituents.
The authorities must urgently address these issues to ensure the safety of commuters and bolster the region's tourism potential. Repairing the road and installing dividers are imperative steps to mitigate risks and foster a conducive environment for both commuters and tourists alike. Failure to act swiftly not only jeopardizes lives but also stifles the region's economic prospects.
