Jammu, Dec 20: Jammu Police have arrested two drug peddlers with a contraband of heroin and weapons in Bishnah area here in the city outskirts.
Superintendent of Police, Jammu South, Ajay Sharma told reporters that acting on a specific input regarding two persons namely Jaswinder Singh and Jarnial Singh, both residents of Bhour Camp, Chatha, who are involved in illegal trade of selling and transporting of narcotics contraband, were roaming in vehicle in Bishnah ring road area, a police party along with Executive Magistrate laid a naka at Palli Morh, Ring Road, Bishnah.
The team intercepted the vehicle coming from Raya Morh area towards Bishnah and during search, 265 grams of heroine along one pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from them.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigation set into motion.
Notably, both the accused persons are habitual and hardcore criminals involved in criminals activities in past also, while Jasvinder alias Jimmy has six FIRs registered against him, Jarnail has two FIRs registered against them in different Police Stations in District Jammu.
The arrest was made by a team of PS Bishnah headed by SHO PS Bishnah under the close supervision of SDPO R.S.Pura, SP Hqrs Jammu and overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
This successful operation marks a significant breakthrough, and further investigation is underway.
