    Police raids people involved in malicious propaganda

    Srinagar, Dec 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out a raid at the residence of Abdul Hamid Parry in Budshah Nagar, Natipora, on Friday, in connection with an investigation into the spread of false and malicious information. The raid, conducted under search warrants from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court, resulted in the seizure of incriminating materials and electronic devices.

    According to police, this action is part of an ongoing investigation into a network responsible for fabricating and disseminating distorted narratives aimed at inciting unlawful and violent activities. The operation is linked to FIR No. 65/2024 under section 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UA(P) Act).

    Further searches are planned at the homes of other identified suspects involved in this misinformation campaign. Police revealed that previous raids have already been carried out in the Batmaloo and HMT areas, targeting individuals such as Obais Riyaz Dar and Sahil Ahmad Bhat, both of whom have been linked to orchestrating the spread of unlawful content.

    In light of these actions, police have urged the public, particularly youth, to be cautious when using social media and avoid sharing or uploading content that could promote violence or disrupt public order. Authorities also emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining peace and preventing the spread of divisive narratives.

    Further raids are expected as the investigation continues.
