Rajouri, Jan 21: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district have resealed a house in Badhal village following the tragic deaths of multiple family members. This marks the latest development in a larger, mysterious tragedy that has claimed the lives of 17 villagers over the past month and a half.
The decision to reseal the house came after fresh samples were collected for investigation by an inter-ministerial team under the guidance of Kotranka’s Additional District Magistrate, Dil Mir. The team conducted a thorough survey of the premises and collected samples for further analysis.
Magistrate Dil Mir told reporters, “Eight people from this house have lost their lives. We conducted a search to inspect the edible items, and all samples have been taken. The house was already sealed, and after collecting the samples, it has been resealed.”
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) composed of senior police officers and medical experts to investigate the deaths. The team is examining medical purchases, food, and medicine consumed by the affected families, as well as investigating the possibility of poisoning, which may be linked to local rivalries.
