Moral bankruptcy is as frustrating as financial. Societies today at large are faced with this. With the rise of capitalism the world is relatively more materialistic than it was ever before .The one world narrative has left little space for societies to upload their respective cultures and values. If we have a quick look at our society we see an obvious moral degradation .Our prostate less pride to abide by the laws of land instead they feel elevated to break them in daylight.Standing in a queue is considered as pith you are a less important person. Breaking it is perceived as if someone is important. Using foul language with traffic police wardens or with a public service officer of a low cardire is taken as born right.I remember my first visit to Ladakh in the year 1999 .I can recall going to a nearby grocery shop to buy bread and a pack of milk for my breakfast. I addressed the shopkeeper, Give me bread and milk.In reply the shopkeeper said,”Young man, listen I won’t give what you need until you say please. “My head went down in shame and I repeated the sentence accompanied with the word “Please” and happily came outside the shop heading towards my friend’ house. If one happen to visit a hospital in Himachal Pradesh,it is clearly written and warned to not use foul language as it may have legal implications. If you travel by bus ,it is written that the bus driver is serving you. Please don’t indulge in an activity that may undermine his respect and as it won’t be tolerated .I personally believe our TV dramas and advertisements have shown that had little relevance to Indian society. It has projected exclusively a pseudo elite culture for a decade or so.Genuine elite is few in Indian society while pseudo has grown massively with the coming in of bulk money ,whether black or white is a separate question. The projection of this new segment of our society in dramas and advertisements has morally downgraded Indian society as a whole.Last but not least it is a dire need of the hour that national organisations looking after literature , arts and culture must realize this social degradation arising out coffee dramas ,shows and advertisements shown on various TV channels throughout the length and breadth of India
