Leh, Nov 30, 2024: The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, proudly flagged off two athletes, Diskit Angmo and Iftikar Hussain, from Leh to Hyderabad for Paralympic training.

Accompanying them are Padma Chuskit, Warden, and Mukhtar Ali, Liaison Officer. The team is scheduled to depart for Hyderabad today.

The athletes will undergo specialized training for para-cycling under the guidance of the Aditya Mehta Foundation. This initiative is designed to prepare them for the upcoming Paracycling Nationals in Hyderabad. The athletes were identified and selected during a meticulous screening and counseling process held earlier at special schools for persons with disabilities.

This effort is a significant step forward in the 2028 Paralympic Mission, an ambitious program launched by LAHDC in collaboration with the Aditya Mehta Foundation.

The initiative underscores the council’s dedication to empowering athletes with disabilities and fostering their potential to excel on the global stage.

The LAHDC extended its heartfelt wishes to these talented individuals as they embark on their journey, representing Ladakh with pride and determination.
