New Delhi, Feb 9: Khalistani elements have issued threats to blow up the Indian Parliament, following which security around the Parliament complex has been significantly tightened.
Threatening emails were also sent to several schools, warning of bomb blasts and carrying the slogan “Hindustan Banega Khalistan”.
The emails were sent by a person identified as Zachary Jenkins using the email ID [email protected]. A copy of the email was accessed by UNI News Agency. The sender used the Punjabi language to convey the threat.
“Delhi BanayGa Khalistan. Aaj Shaheed Afzal Guru di Yaad vich bomb blast 1:11 pm hovega. Schoolan vich aaj dhamaka. Hindustani Parliament vich bomb chalega. 13 February at 1:11 PM hovega. Modi-Shah-Jaishankar Khalistan walian de dushman. Punjab hul Khalistan. Khalistan National Army. Eng. Guranakh Singh, Rukan Shahwala,” the email read. (Delhi will become Khalistan. Today, in memory of martyr Afzal Guru, a bomb blast will occur at 1:11 PM. There will be explosions in schools today. A bomb will explode in the Indian Parliament. It will happen on 13 February at 1:11 PM. Modi, Shah, and Jaishankar are enemies of Khalistan supporters. Punjab is Khalistan.)
As many as nine schools received the threatening emails. The schools include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony, Venkateshwar School and CM School in Rohini, The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, DTA School in INA, and Bal Bharati School in Rohini.
Following the alerts, teams of Delhi Police, along with bomb disposal squads, rushed to the schools. Security agencies immediately launched thorough search and inspection operations on the premises as a precautionary measure.
“Venkateshwar Global School has been completely sanitised, and nothing suspicious has been found,” police said. (UNI)
