    Kashmir Freezes: Srinagar at –3.1°C, Pahalgam Drops to –5.2°C

    Srinagar, Nov 29: Kashmir Valley witnessed an intense cold wave on Friday night, with temperatures dipping sharply across most stations, according to data from independent weather channel Kashmir Weather. Srinagar recorded a minimum of –3.1°C, marking one of its coldest nights of the season.

    Pahalgam remained among the coldest at –5.2°C, while Pampore dropped further to –6.0°C and Awantipora touched –5.0°C. Qazigund recorded –3.4°C, and Kupwara settled at –4.9°C. In north Kashmir, Zethan Rafiabad hit –5.6°C, while Zojila Pass emerged as the coldest point at a frigid –16.0°C.

    Gulmarg recorded –1.3°C, Kokernag –1.6°C, and the Srinagar Airport station plunged to –5.2°C.

    Meanwhile, the Jammu region remained comparatively warmer with minimums above freezing. Jammu recorded 9.4°C, Katra 8.6°C, and Kathua 7.8°C. Banihal, however, slipped to –0.3°C, followed by Bhaderwah at 0.4°C, Rajouri at 1.2°C, Udhampur at 4.0°C, and Batote at 4.4°C.

    Ladakh continued to reel under harsh conditions as the mercury plunged further. Leh recorded –9.0°C, Kargil –10.2°C, and Nubra Valley –8.5°C, making it one of the coldest nights of the season. (Agencies)
