Jammu, May 4: In a major enforcement action, the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) on Monday carried out a demolition drive along the Ring Road corridor to curb unauthorized constructions and ensure planned urban development in the region.
During the operation, more than 15 illegal structures were demolished for being constructed without obtaining the required permissions from the competent authority. Officials stated that these constructions were in clear violation of approved land-use norms and building regulations.
Preliminary assessments revealed that several of the structures posed a serious threat to public safety. Many were structurally unsafe or had encroached upon critical areas, increasing the risk to nearby residential and commercial properties.
The demolition drive was conducted by the Enforcement Wing of JDA with the support of local administration and law enforcement agencies. The operation was completed smoothly without any untoward incident. Authorities confirmed that prior notices had been served to the violators, giving them sufficient time to comply with legal requirements.
Reaffirming its commitment to planned urban development, the JDA urged residents to strictly adhere to building norms and obtain necessary permissions before undertaking any construction activity.
The Authority further warned that similar enforcement drives will continue in the future, and strict action will be taken against all violations without exception.
