Renowned poet and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar recently joined hands with his filmmaker daughter Zoya Akhtar at a prominent media networking session. During the event, the iconic Bollywood personality showered actress Alia Bhatt with generous praise for her incredible performance in Academy Award winner Sanjay Leela Bhansali's acclaimed film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi'.
Akhtar stated that after watching her nuanced portrayal of Gangubai in the blockbuster biopic, one can say without an iota of doubt that Bhatt possesses extraordinary acting abilities. In his characteristic witty manner, he expressed that while being diplomatic about not wanting to offend other talented performers, it was fair to say that the young star has emerged as one of the most skilled actors in the industry presently.
Additionally, Zoya Akhtar shared an update regarding her much-awaited directorial ‘Jee Le Zaraa' featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. She revealed that the movie is definitely still in development as planned but the production needs to find a suitable timeframe that aligns everyone's busy schedules, particularly the lead actors as well as director Farhan Akhtar.
Father-daughter duo Javed and Zoya have previously joined creative forces on notable films like ‘Dil Dhadakne Do', ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and ‘Luck by Chance' to critical and commercial success. Zoya also co-produced the well-received series ‘Angry Young Men' chronicling her father and Salim Khan's illustrious writing partnership.
