    Jammu Tawi, December 6: Jammu’s Deaf Judoka Rakesh Singh  today won  bronze medal in Judo category  at the 10th Asia Pacific Deaf  Games-2024 at  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    An alumnus of Samaj Kalyan Kendra run School for Hearing Handicapped is a member of six-member Indian team for these Games. He was only Judo player selected for these Games being played from 1st December to 8th December 2024

    The Judo team comprised two men and four women. The Deaf contingent participated under the banner of All India Sports Council of the Deaf. Earlier he participated in the Deaflympic at Brazil 2022 & got 7th place in individual category. He was under training Chief Judo Coach Suraj Bhan Singh of J&K Sports Council at MA Stadium Jammu.

    The President of the Samaj Kalyan Kendra K B Jandial has commended the performance Rakesh Singh and said the SKK’s alumni have been bring laurels for J&K & India at international events.
