Rajouri, January 8: Despite tall claims of the popular government as well as Lieutenant Governor’s administration of maintaining best health infrastructure, Sub District Hospital Sunderbani displays altogether a different picture with lack of discipline and unhygienic premises, an apparent vindication of administrative failure.

According to sources, notwithstanding repeated visits by senior authorities, including Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, the hospital continues to struggle with issues of uniformity, discipline, and hygiene.

“Apart from two doctors, the medical staff, including the senior doctor, often fail to adhere to basic disciplinary norms, such as wearing uniforms,” alleged sources, adding that even during official visits by political leaders, including ministers and senior officers, the majority of the staff remain indifferent to protocol.

They said that a recent inspection by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary highlighted these ongoing lapses.

“During the visit, it was observed that many doctors and medical staff members were not in uniform, presenting an unprofessional image,” adding “It is disheartening to see such a lack of discipline, especially when top officials are inspecting the facility.”

The Deputy Chief Minister reportedly instructed the hospital staff to improve their practices.

However, sources remain skeptical about meaningful changes without stringent follow-ups.

“If strict measures are not taken, the hospital will continue to deteriorate,” sources said, adding that the hospital premises were found to be in an unhygienic state, with visible filth in several areas.

Sources asserted that there is a strong resentment against the appointment of local administrator, especially during election time.

Meanwhile, locals have requested the Deputy Chief Minister to conduct regular inspections to ensure accountability and discipline among the staff.

Locals alleged that amid all this chaos, the administration appears to fail in adhering the basic norms.
