The so-called warning issued by proxy outfit of Pakistan-based terror organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) — The Resistance Front (TRF) to J&K Police against devastating the houses of suspected terrorists clearly shows that India’s response to terrorism in Kashmir is befitting and is serving the purpose fully.
Reportedly, the audio clip by TRF commander Ahmad Salaar claimed that the blasting of the houses of suspected terrorists shows the frustration of J&K Police. As a threat has been issued by this terror group claiming that it would take away a house for a house and a family member for a family member, it seems that the measures taken by the cops in Kashmir have started bringing results as the restlessness among the terrorists has divulged the same beyond any doubt.
It is however necessary that the cops and other security agencies should take all steps to counter terrorism by remaining well within the contours of law of the land as any kind of over enthusiasm can play the spoilsport.
It is pertinent to mention that in the past few days, houses of several suspected terrorists have been destroyed across J&K by the security forces, a step which is being seen as retaliation against the Pahalgam carnage.
Earlier, on April 26, the TRF, which earlier owned the responsibility of the Pahalgam attack had backtracked. As many as 26 persons had been killed in Pahalgam’s Baisaran meadow after terrorists, whose number is uncertain, had fired upon tourists on April 22.
One must say that India’s befitting stance against terrorism has lately started resonating in the nerves of those who once operated with impunity. The desperate response of terror groups like TRF by way of hollow threats and backtracking on responsibility is an indication that India has hit the mark and mounted the pressure at the right spot.
It becomes necessary that country should continue to take measures against terrorism by remaining in legal and constitutional circles to maintain legitimacy and public trust.
All said and done, it is imperative for the country not to forgive or forget the terror peddlers as countering their actions befittingly is the only way to achieve long lasting peace in the country.
