New Delhi, November 28: A low-intensity explosion occurred today near the PVR multiplex in northwest Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area at approximately 11:48 am. Police and fire services quickly responded to the scene, with a team from the Special Cell of Delhi Police en route for further investigation.
According to officials, the blast took place near a park’s boundary wall, and a white powder-like substance was found at the site. Interestingly, a similar substance was discovered during a blast near the CRPF school in the same area last month. Although the explosion caused damage to the boundary wall, no casualties were reported in either incident.
Police have cordoned off the area, and a bomb detection team along with a dog squad have arrived at the scene. Fire services dispatched four fire tenders, and initial reports indicate that the driver of a nearby three-wheeler sustained minor injuries.
While the blast bears similarities to the previous explosion near the CRPF school, police officials have stressed that it is too early to draw any definitive connection between the two incidents. “This was a very low-intensity blast that occurred opposite a sweet shop. We cannot link them right now,” a police source said.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
