Sangrur, March 16: During a CME here today, doctors discussed recent developments in arthroscopy and surgical management in cardiac treatment. Around 140 doctors participated in the CME, which was organized by Paras Health, Panchkula along with IMA Sangrur.
Among others Dr. Amit Singla president, Dr. Anku Jain general secretary, Dr. Kapil Goyal finance secretary, Dr. IndermanjotVP , Dr. Kuldeep Raikhy and Dr. Makhan Singh, both patrons of IMA were also present.
Addressing CME, Dr Ravi Gupta chairman sports medicine, orthopedics, joint replacement and trauma at Paras said that Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure where the problems of joints are treated by keyhole surgery. Due to minimal invasive surgery, the patient starts moving the operated joint on the same day and does not require any plaster, he said.
“We recommend this surgery for all the joints mainly in sports related injuries or even any other injuries in knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and ankle joints.”
During the procedure, the doctors will insert a tool called an arthroscope into the joint through several small keyhole cuts to see how much damage is in the joint. They can also repair the damage during the same surgery through the same keyhole cuts, informed Dr. Ravi Gupta.
Dr. Rana Sandip Singh, director and chief consultant CTVS spoke about current trends in the surgical management of structure heart disease. Dr Amit Bansal senior consultant general and minimal access surgery talked about changing trends in hernia management during the CME.
