Div Com calls for resolving land cases, speedy removal of structures

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma today chaired a meeting to review the progress on land cases for Jammu Akhnoor Road four laning project.
ADC Jammu, Tahir Firdous, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Jammu North, Jammu South, Akhnoor besides Manager NHIDCL, Deputy General Manager, NHIDCL and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that 90 per cent land has been handed over to executing agencies for execution of the project. It was informed that 50 structures have been removed while 115 structures are pending in package 2.
Seeking details of tree cutting, the Div Com was informed that out of 806 trees 758 have been cleared in package 2.
It was further informed that all government buildings inside rotary have been vacated and demolished except Saw Mill which is also in process of shifting.
While briefing about the progress of package 3 of the project, the officers informed that 58 structures have been demolished and 3942 tress out of 7180 have been cut.
The concerned officers informed that pending cases are in process as the administration is working on issuing awards.
The Div Com directed concerned officers to expedite land cases and structure removal, tree felling for fast tracking the execution of the project and its timely completion.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the progress on land issues of power projects sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Development Package.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer M&RE, Sudhir Gupta, Chief Engineer S&O, Chief Engineer Projects PDD, ADC Jammu, SDM, North and other concerned, while ADC Samba along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
The ADC Samba informed about the land issues resolved and progress on pending land cases. It was informed that pending cases are in process and the land for power projects would be provided to concerned department at the earliest.
The Div Com asked concerned officers for taking possession of land where the land issues have been resolved.
