Jammu Tawi, Jan 16: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, will chair a meeting of both the National Conference (NC) and Congress MLAs at Jammu just 2 days before the start of the second budget session of the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).
All is not well between the coalition partners NC and Cong since the formation of NC led government in J&K and there are serious differences between both these parties as Cong has not joined the government.
The differences between both these coalition partners widened further in the Rajya Sabha elections held last year as NC didn’t give Cong the seat of its choosing.
The meeting of the NC and Cong MLAs ahead of the budget session at Jammu will be chaired by the CM Omar Abdullah just to send a message that “all is well in the coalition partners,” sources said.
It may be mentioned that NC has 41 MLAs and Cong has 6 MLAs in the 90 member Assembly of J&K. “First we will hold our own meeting of the party MLAs next week, finalise issues and will then participate in the meeting to be called by the Chief Minister,” Cong Chief Spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, informed the Northlines.
He said that the date and venue of this meeting of NC and Cong MLAs will be finalized soon.
