Ganderbal, Mar 29: The new Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal district, Krittika Jyotsna on Monday issued a circular, asking all the officers to ensure that the national flag is flown on all government offices and buildings within 15 days.
A circular issued in this regard by the District Magistrate, quoting the Flag Code of India 2002, reads that “the Indian National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is the symbol of our national pride. There are universal affection and respect for, and loyalty to the National Flag.”
“The Government of India, to bring awareness amongst the people and also in the organizations/agencies of the government, in regard to laws, practices and conventions that apply to the display of the National Flag has defined a Flag Code of India, 2002,” it further said.
“Now in the backdrop of above, it is enjoined upon all District/Sectoral/Tehsil/Block level officers to ensure that National Flag is flown on all Government offices/buildings across the district within 15 days, it reads, adding that Addl Dy Commissioner, Ganderbal shall be the Nodal Officer for implementation of this circular in letter and spirit,” the circular stated.
