Srinagar, Jan 27: Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri, on Friday said the government is taking into account the financial position of the state while examining the SRO-202.
“We would be able to take any decision on the SRO after thorough deliberations. It will be revoked, amended, or retained in the present state, depending on the outcome of the deliberations,” he said.
Veeri said the government would see what it could do.
“We will see what can be done. After five years of service, there is already a provision that an appointee will be regularised,” he said.
Veeri said that SRO-202 was brought in to just pace up the recruitment process.
“All those appointees who completed five years have been regularised. We have to keep the financial position of the state in view. To bring changes, we require funds,” he said.
The SRO-202 was issued on June 30, 2015, by the then-government of Jammu and Kashmir.
The rules introduced through it are called the Jammu and Kashmir Special Recruitment Rules 2015, which allow regularisation of every appointee who has five years of temporary service to his credit.
During five years, new appointee shall not be entitled to annual increments, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (DA) and City Compensatory Allowance (CCA).
Pertinently, the youth have shown strong resentment over the said SRO.
The youth have been saying that the SRO-202 is against the laid down rule of law, as it violates the basic right of equal pay for equal work
