CM Sharma demands ban on dumping garbage near Tawi

Tawi: Senior BJP leader and Incharge, Namami-Gange Campaign Chander Mohan Sharma today demanded strict ban on dumping garbage on banks & in the basin of River Tawi and also action against the violators who are responsible in converting River into dumping site for garbage. Sharma who visited water pumping station site at Khak Chowk, Dhonthly at Tawi and found big deposits and heaps of waste building materials dug from construction site of multi-layered parking being constructed at Panjtirthi by JMC. Sharma who along with team of Tawi Andolan took the stock of the situation said that there is a deep conspiracy to grab land measuring more than 20 kanal by so-called God man contractors of multilayer parking, local police and forest employees. They have also constructed big steel shed on the spot. He alleged that Khilafwarzi and enforcement department is observing studied silence. Ramesh Gupta local resident and BJP leader from Jammu city has expressed his anguish that the situation is alarming for the of the river and aggravation of danger of flood. Balwinder Singh Bhatia, Vice President of Tawi Andolan called for immediate action as these huge deposits of garbage may give rise to the outbreak of epidemic due to pollution of water being supplied to the city from the pumping station located at the same spot.
