Doda, Dec 14: In a major step to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the police have filed chargesheets against seven individuals in two separate cases in Doda district. The chargesheets, presented before the NIA Court on Friday, relate to violations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta, stated that the accused individuals had provided logistical support to terrorist groups operating in the Doda region, including food and supplies, either covertly or overtly. The first case, registered at Gandoh Police Station, involves three individuals: Safder Ali, Mubashar Hussain, and Sajad Ahmad, all residents of Tanta, Tehsil Kahara. They face charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 307, 120-B, 121, 122 and 326. Additionally, they are charged under sections 7 and 27 of the Arms Act and various provisions of the UAPA. This investigation was conducted by SP(PC), Doda. The second case, registered at Bhaderwah Police Station, involves four accused individuals. The primary accused, Muhammad Rafi from Trown, and Muhammad Amin Bhat alias Khubaib from Phagsoo, who is currently in Pakistan-Occupied Jammu Kashmir, face charges under sections 122, 382, 409, 166 along with several UAPA sections, including 13, 18, 18-B, 23, 38, and 39. The charges also include sections 7 and 25 of the Arms Act. SDPO Bhaderwah led the investigation in this case.
SSP Doda reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order in the region, emphasizing their determination to take strong action against those involved in militant activities and to ensure justice prevails.
