Leh: A delegation from Bogdang led by Nambardar, Bogdang, Mohd Mussa called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh (HLG), Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner/Secretary, Dr Vasanthakumar N, Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, and Secretary, GAD, Michael D’Souza, were present in the meeting. Mussa requested the HLG’s intervention in granting Special Sub-Division status to Bogdang, the largest village in Chorbat Valley which comprises nine villages, to expedite developmental works. The HLG stated that he would take up the matter of creating the subdivision in the newly announced Nubra district with the Ministry of Home Affairs for their due consideration. Mohd Ali from Tambis, Kargil called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at the LG Secretariat. Ali requested the HLG’s intervention in repatriating 17 employees currently working at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in UT Jammu and Kashmir to UT Ladakh. Dr Vasanthakumar, and Michael D’Souza, informed the HLG that SKIMS is a society and Ali and others working at SKIMS are not government employees due to which they can only be placed at the disposal of SIDCO and not in any government institute due to the unavailability of a medical society in Ladakh. They also informed the HLG that the repatriation of employees of Ladakh currently working in corporations and societies in J&K would be taken up with the Chief Secretary of UT J&K in a meeting to be held soon. The HLG asked Ali to wait for the decision from the Administration of UT J&K and meet him after two months in this regard.
