Jammu Tawi, June 8: In a closely contested electoral battle, Arun Gupta was re-elected as President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCI), Jammu, for the term 2025–27. The bi-ennial elections were held today at the Chamber House, Rail Head Complex, Jammu, under the supervision of the Election Committee headed by Shiv Partap Gupta. Arun Gupta secured 1,461 votes, defeating his rival Rakesh Gupta, who garnered 1,290 votes.
Anil Gupta was elected as Senior Vice President with 1,603 votes, defeating Deepak Aggarwal, who secured 1,010 votes. Rajeev Gupta (Kaka) emerged as the Junior Vice President by polling 1,812 votes, while his opponent Sunil Gupta (Kodha) received 916 votes. For the post of Secretary General, Manish Gupta won with 1,487 votes against Rahul Mahajan, who got 1,226 votes. Rajesh Gupta (Rinku) secured 1,496 votes to defeat Ashu Gupta, who obtained 1,144 votes, thereby becoming the new Secretary. In a three-cornered contest for the post of Treasurer, Rajesh Gupta (Raju) clinched victory with 1,295 votes, while Manik Gupta and Rajeev Langer received 739 and 602 votes respectively.
The election process witnessed enthusiastic participation from the trading community and was conducted in a fair and transparent manner, upholding the democratic values of the prestigious business body.
The newly elected team is expected to continue working towards strengthening the business ecosystem in Jammu and addressing the concerns of the trader fraternity.
