    Amritsar Police Bust Cross-Border Narco-Arms-Hawala Network, 3 Held

    Chandigarh, Sep 4:  In a major intelligence-led operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police arrested three operatives linked to a cross-border organized crime network involved in smuggling heroin and weapons from Pakistan.

    The gang, active in Punjab’s border areas, was apprehended following a targeted crackdown.

    The arrested individuals, identified as Harpreet Singh, Gurpal Singh, and Ranjodh Singh, were found to have ties with cross-border smugglers. Preliminary investigations revealed that Harpreet Singh and Gurpal Singh, who had previously traveled to Malaysia, were key players in the network. Based on their disclosures, police recovered 2.02 kg of heroin and two .30 bore pistols.

    Additionally, Ranjodh Singh was arrested with two pistols, including one Glock 9MM, and Rs3.5 lakh in drug money intended for hawala transactions.

    The total recovery included 2.02 kg of heroin, four pistols, and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash. A case has been registered at PS Gate Hakiman, with ongoing investigations aimed at unraveling the full extent of the nexus.
