Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav. The Chief Minister said, “Those who speak of making Ayodhya a religious city should first look at their own history. The Samajwadi Party government that had Ram devotees fired upon, opposed the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, stopped Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations and even banned the Kanwar Yatra, is today talking about making Ayodhya a religious city.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 143 development projects worth more than Rs 548 crore in the Hathras, Sikandra Rao and Sadabad Assembly constituencies. He also distributed house keys, smartphones, and cheques under the Yuva Udyami Yojana to beneficiaries. During the programme, he inspected exhibitions put up by various departments. During the visit, he fed milk with a spoon to a little girl at one of the stalls and affectionately held her in his lap.
CM Yogi said he was surprised after reading Akhilesh Yadav’s statement in which he had said that if his government came to power, Ayodhya would be made a religious city. He stated, “How will you make it a religious city? First look at your own history. It was your own Samajwadi Party government that had Ram devotees fired upon. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ayodhya today appears to be bringing alive the memories of the Treta Yuga. Through the hard work and dedicated efforts of Ram devotees, Ayodhya has become a centre of attraction for devotees from across the world. Now, even the Samajwadi Party has started remembering Ayodhya.”
The Chief Minister alleged, “The Samajwadi Party government had even stopped Shri Krishna Janmashtami programmes held in police stations and jails. The Kanwar Yatra had also been banned. Today, more than 22 temples in Hathras have been beautified, but such work was never possible under the Samajwadi government. At that time, this very money was spent on constructing boundary walls for graveyards. We diverted that same money towards temples. What is needed is not graveyards but temples, because temples are the centres of our faith.”
Advising Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister said, “Leave aside your concern for Ayodhya because Ayodhya does not depend on anyone for its identity. Akhilesh ji, Ayodhya has been decorated and beautified by the devotees of Lord Ram. Do not worry about it. Repent and have darshan of Ramlala once. Perhaps good sense will prevail.”
He added, “If the Samajwadi Party truly wishes to respect religious faith, it should openly speak in support of Mathura-Vrindavan and Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.
The Chief Minister further said, “Just as the Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Andolan was carried out, the Samajwadi Party should also openly speak about launching a campaign for the liberation of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi.”
CM Yogi remarked, “Our government is working on a war footing to provide all basic facilities to devotees visiting Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. But the Samajwadi Party does not have the courage to do so because its entire agenda is confined to the politics of appeasement. Akhilesh ji, you do not have the courage. Other than kneeling before mullahs and maulvis, you have no agenda for the development of the state, the upliftment of Ayodhya, Mathura and Kashi, or for strengthening their ancient identity.”
He added, “Stop throwing dust in the eyes of the people. Do not exemplify the saying, ‘Khisiyani billi khambha noche.’ Ayodhya has an identity across the world and does not require a certificate from any political party.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also targeted the Congress-Samajwadi Party alliance. He said, “During the Lok Sabha elections, both parties spoke about saving the Constitution, whereas the biggest assault on the Constitution in the country was committed by the Congress when it imposed the Emergency on June 25, 1975.”
CM Yogi asserted, “Congress strangled the Constitution framed by Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. At that time, all opposition leaders who raised their voice for democracy were sent to jail. Leaders such as Jayaprakash Narayan, Raj Narain, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani, Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Kalyan Singh were imprisoned by the Congress government so that they could not go among the people and oppose the Congress. More than one lakh people were arrested. Congress had also humiliated Mulayam Singh Yadav and sent him to jail.”
Yogi Adityanath said that today the same Samajwadi Party is standing with the Congress and, in doing so, is also insulting the legacy of Mulayam Singh Yadav. He stated, “Congress shattered the dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar, and the Samajwadi Party, by standing with that very Congress, is becoming a partner in its sins. Congress and the Samajwadi Party have always done only those things that were against the interests of society and the nation.”
Appealing to the public to remain cautious of such parties, he emphasized that the development of the state, the preservation of cultural heritage, and respect for centres of faith have become possible only under the double-engine government.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, “Development is possible only where there is a strong environment of security and law and order. The three Assembly constituencies have received projects worth nearly Rs 548 crore as a gift, and I congratulate all the people of these constituencies. Only in a secure environment can the hopes and aspirations for development be fulfilled. Where there are riots, disturbances and repeated curfews, development and the prospect of a bright future cannot even be imagined.”
He added that this was precisely the condition of Uttar Pradesh before 2017. CM Yogi said, “Which district was there where riots did not take place? The Jawahar Bagh incident in Mathura, the Kosi Kalan riots, and the riots in Meerut, Aligarh and Muzaffarnagar had become the identity of the state. Curfews were imposed every second or third month, trade came to a standstill, young people lost employment opportunities, and the state’s image suffered across the country.”
CM Yogi said that the situation has changed completely over the past nine years. He pointed out, “Today, there are no riots in Uttar Pradesh, no curfews are imposed, and hooliganism is not tolerated. During Muharram, around 12,000 processions were taken out across the state, yet there was no riot, disturbance or curfew-like situation anywhere. Earlier, sword-wielding displays used to take place during Muharram. In the name of Tazias, the huts and projections of poor people’s houses were removed, and even high-tension power lines had to be shifted. The government put in place a system under which the height of Tazias was kept within a prescribed limit so that no poor person suffered any loss and no accident took place. The entire state has witnessed the positive results of this. Development gathers pace only when law and order is strong.”
Referring to the exhibitions put up by various departments at the venue, he said, “Efforts are being made to give every region of the state a new identity. Hathras will no longer remain deprived of development. An industrial area is developing rapidly here. Investment is increasing and industries are being established due to its connectivity with the Mathura-Bareilly four-lane highway, which will create new employment opportunities for local youth.”
CM Yogi informed, “Potato farmers in Hathras are also set to receive major relief. Processing centres will be established here, due to which farmers will no longer have to depend on cold storage facilities and their costs will come down. Farmers will receive better prices for their produce. In the same direction, a processing centre has also been established at Kosi (Mathura), while approval has been granted for the establishment of the International Potato Center in Agra and the International Rice Research Institute in Varanasi. This will make high-quality seeds available to farmers and increase agricultural production.”
He said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is working for every section of society without any discrimination. The benefits of government schemes are being provided on the basis of eligibility, not on the basis of caste, religion, language or region. The poor have been provided free ration, houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, toilets for every household, and free LPG connections under the Ujjwala Yojana. Not only this, free LPG cylinders are also being provided on Holi and Deepawali.”
CM Yogi further stated, “Good governments ensure development along with the welfare of the poor, employment for youth, respect for women, and security for traders. Our government is also continuously taking effective steps to increase the income of farmers. The decision made through a single vote can change the future of the state. When the people press the lotus button and elect the BJP and NDA candidates, they receive security for traders, stronger safety for daughters, and greater employment opportunities for youth in return.”
He said, “Today, when the youth of Uttar Pradesh travel to other states, they no longer have to hide their identity. Before 2017, the youth of the state avoided revealing their identity because the previous governments had damaged the image of the state. Every district was under the grip of the mafia. They exploited the poor, encroached on government land, usurped funds meant for development schemes, and posed a threat to the security of traders, farmers and daughters. The double-engine government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against crime and criminals. As a result, Uttar Pradesh has today become a mafia-free, riot-free, curfew-free and disturbance-free state, and has emerged as the growth engine of the fastest-growing economy in the country.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally handed over house keys, cheques, Ayushman Cards and smartphones to beneficiaries Durgesh Kumar, Chandra Prakash, Preeti, Sonia, Jyoti, Meena Devi, Radha Devi, Vimal Raju, Mamta and Margshree.
On the occasion, MP Anoop Pradhan Valmiki, MLA Anjula Singh Mahaur, MLA Birendra Singh Rana, MLA Pradeep Kumar, senior BJP leader Dinesh Sharma, District President Prem Singh Kushwaha, Lok Dal District President Shyam Chaudhary, Apna Dal (S) District President Ravi Saraswat and others were present.
