It is irksome that despite passing of so many decades when the country was divided on the basis of religious differences, the people in the Indian sub-continent have not learnt the necessary lessons that the unscrupulous elements provoke them with conventional methods to incite their passions for disrupting peace and social fabric of the society.
In a similar incident, reportedly certain anti-social elements have committed the act of vandalisation of a religious place in Dharmari area of Arnas in Reasi district leading to stoic calm but with strong undercurrent of unrest as people have been hurt by this intolerable act. Though police has detained 12 suspects in connection with this act of vandalisation and constituted a ‘Special Investigation Team' (SIT) under the supervision of DySP Operations Reasi, but what is more important is that people should act responsibly and maintain peace and brotherhood or else the aim of anti-nationals behind this act of vandalisation will be fulfilled, which should not be the case under any circumstances.
It is unfortunate that the age-old modus operandi of anti-social elements to disrupt peace still works in the region as people become uncontrollable when any such thing comes to fore. On the contrary, the approach of the people in such cases should be totally different because falling prey to the traps laid by anti-social elements is not at all advisable.
The duty of common man in such cases is only to inform the police and have faith in the men in Khaki because there is no reason to doubt the credibility of the cops as they are capable enough to crack such cases as the officers in the aforesaid case have assured to solve the mystery in this very case in shortest possible time. It is wrong to disrupt peace in the affected areas in such cases because such a response hampers investigation and at times fulfills the desire of enemies of peace, who have kindled the fire for escalating the tension.
All said and done, people should remain cautious of such nefarious designs and should not do what the unscrupulous want them to do, rather it is time to act sensibly and help cops to take on the guilty as fast as possible.
