New Delhi, June 19: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday issued a safety advisory for candidates appearing in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, urging them to download their admit cards only from the official website and remain vigilant against fraudulent messages, fake links and scam communications.
The agency said it is sending reminder SMS messages, emails and WhatsApp notifications to candidates who have not yet downloaded their admit cards. The NEET-UG examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses was originally conducted on May 3 but was cancelled on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the matter.
In an advisory posted on X, the NTA said official SMS messages would be sent only through the sender ID “NICPEP”, while emails would originate from “[email protected]”. It reiterated that the only official website for downloading admit cards is neet.nta.nic.in and advised candidates to type the URL directly into their browser instead of clicking on unknown links.
The agency clarified that it will never ask candidates for payment, send exam papers, answer keys or leaked material, or share admit cards through links. It urged students not to click on suspicious messages and to report any such communication immediately.
The NTA also announced that it will send examination updates and test centre information through its official WhatsApp broadcast channel. Candidates have been advised to verify that messages are received from the account carrying the blue verified tick and the name “National Testing Agency”. Any account without the blue verification badge should be treated as fake, even if it uses the agency’s name.
According to the advisory, the WhatsApp service is a one-way broadcast channel and will never ask candidates to reply, share OTPs, personal details or make payments. Any request seeking such information is fraudulent.
It also informed candidates that admit cards issued for the May 3 examination are no longer valid because many students have been allotted new examination centres in their preferred cities. Downloading and printing the June 21 admit card once is sufficient, the NTA said.
Candidates have been advised to download admit cards only from the official website and report suspicious messages through the designated reporting platform or cybercrime helplines. (Agencies)
